It has been a busy start to the year and there are no signs of things slowing down in the CYT Office!

CYT has kicked off the season of autumn with our wonderful Autumn at CYT Holiday Workshop Program. Ten incredibly excited and creative young people came to the C-Block Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre to spend five days devising, creating and experimenting. With the assistance of our amazing tutors Tracy and Emma, these CYT artists spent the start of the week getting to know each other and learn the importance of working as an ensemble. Our artists were quick to start working on their performance piece for the end of the week. With the help of their tutors they experimented with tableaux, characterisation and having an awareness of performance spaces and audiences. The final performance time finally arrived after much excitement and it was such a joy to see the incredible work that was created by all of our talented artists. Thank you to all of our participants and especially our tutors, Tracy Bourne and Emma McManus for all you time and efforts!

We are already planning our next Holiday Workshop Program for Winter so stay tuned to the CYT website for more details.

We are excited to welcome back all of our CYT artists after the Term One holidays for the Gorman Arts Centre, Outer-Metropolitan and Primary School Workshop Programs. With only four weeks, until the End of Semester performances we know everyone will be ready to dive straight back into devising and rehearsing!

As we head into May, we can’t wait to start research and development for our second major production, The Verbatim Project. Make sure to follow our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get behind-the-scenes photos and updates!

We are all looking forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces after the holiday break at Gorman Arts Centre and beyond!
