CYT's Independent Artists Studio Program presents
Design Studio
Love the visual elements of theatre – set & costume? Do you have an imaginative eye for art and design? Then Design Studio is for you!
Design Studio will explore the principles of costume and set design, and the role of design in the communication of a play. Participants will be introduced to principles of design: period, line, colour, texture, research and reference gathering in the design process. In addition to design skills, participants will learn about the collaborative process of working with a director.
Design Studio will debut during 2013. Stay tuned for more details!

THE SEED: Staged Reading Program
“The SEED has given my play new direction. The audience comments inspired a change in form, giving me new ideas and guiding the direction I needed to go in next.” Camilla, 25, Emerging Writer, Artists Unite
The Seed: Staged Readings provide emerging playwrights the opportunity to actively engage with artists and audience in the performance of a live reading of their play.
It offers a testing ground to experiment with the work, ask questions and receive valuable feedback from artists and audience to assist in the continued development of the writing.
Through the year, CYT’s Associate Artists will present 4 new plays in a staged reading, by award winning or promising emerging playwrights from the ACT and across Australia
