“The SEED has given my play new direction. The audience comments inspired a change in form, giving me new ideas and guiding the direction I needed to go in next.”
Camilla, 25, Emerging Writer, Artists Unite

In 2012, CYT will present 4 new plays in a staged reading, by promising emerging playwrights from the ACT and across Australia. With a small creative team, actors will workshop new texts and prepare a minimalist moved reading of the work for a single public performance. The staged readings have minimal set, no costumes and suggestive light and sound, to maximise audience focus on the writing.

The playwright of the particular work in focus is invited to actively participate in the workshop of the play, as well as attending the reading. After the performance the playwright and cast participate in a round table Q&A discussion of the work with the audience, which forms a key part of the staged reading presentation.
