THROUGH A LOOKING GLASS
'Listen... Listen to the words we can no longer here...'
Part historical treasure hunt, part theatrical presentation; Through A Looking Glass is a story in nine parts.
Devised by 14-16 years olds, Through A Looking GLass is inspred by Canberra Youth Theatre's 40-year history - a celebration of the spirit of the Company.
The show begins with the opportunity to explore individual installations:
The Portal and Attic - filled with objects beyond the point of over-flow;
The Doll-House and Memory Theatre - where reality and remembrance meet;
Wanderland - beckons you, promising a world turned inside out;
All The World's a Stage and once Upon A Time - hold treasures too precious not too be found;
Join teh searche for objects symbolic to the company, meet the colourful collection of crazy (or is that crazed?) characters who inhabit the worlds you are invitied to explore.
Once unlocked by the objects you find on your hunt, you are admitted to the Theatre for the finale of the show.
Eve has a secret. Only she doesn;t know it herself. As she writes, characters leap to life from the page. When they begin to distub her morning routine, she has to decide how - and if - she can help them and in return, learn to accept to be on her own.
'Left to themselves, they will continue...not only without any impulse to rebel, but without the power of grasping that the world could be better than it is.'
