November 22 - 26, C Block Theatre OPENING NIGHT SOLD OUT! TICKETS SELLING FAST SO BOOK NOW> A series of 4 World Premiere productions written by emerging playwrights, directed by emerging directors and designed by emerging set, costume, lighting and sound designers. Each play has its own creative team, mentored by professionals in their field. Directing Mentor: Karla Conway What: 4 Emerging Writers, 4 Directors, 4 Designers and 16 Actors unite in the creation of 4 World Premiere performances of new works by Canberra Writers. ARTISTS UNITE sees 4 creative teams chosen to bring to life these brilliant new plays, being mentored along the way in script analysis, design & directing principles, preparing and conducting rehearsals and honing their craft in writing, directing or designing for the theatre. Meeting weekly, the creative teams will conduct production meetings, working together on the creative preparation of the play, casting, scheduling, conceptualizing ideas for production and working collaboratively to bring them to life. Then each team will run rehearsals for their respective plays through the weeks, leading to a full production season of the 4 works in November.
